What effects did the storm and landslides in the subway in England?
What said meteorologist Nick Prebble about the weather?

UK floods disrupt transport, cut power and damage homes

Rail services between Scotland and England cancelled as engineers work to restore power in northern England and Ireland.

Major traffic disruption is expected for a second day as severe storms and torrential rain cause flash floods in parts of the UK.
Rail services between Newcastle and Edinburgh were cancelled on Friday after heavy rain caused landslides and fallen trees to block lines.
On Thursday, one man died after being swept away by a flooded Shropshire stream, while roads were closed and hundreds of homes evacuated. Northern England, the Midlands, Scotland and Northern Ireland were worst hit by storms that brought lightning, giant hailstones, squalls and tornadoes. In contrast, southern parts of Britain enjoyed dry weather and temperatures of up to 28C.
East Coast Trains said on Friday it had cancelled all services between Newcastle and Edinburgh following floods in Cumbria and near Newcastle, and a landslip near Berwick-upon-Tweed. The West Coast line was also badly disrupted by the storms.
East Coast said there would be no replacement bus services or alternative transport arrangements between Scotland and England, adding: "Network Rail is working hard to fix the line quickly following various problems caused by the severe weather experienced yesterday. The line is unlikely to reopen until [Saturday] morning. Tickets valid today and yesterday will be valid on Saturday."
A London to Glasgow Virgin Trains service was stranded between two landslides in the Lake District for more than two hours on Thursday before being diverted. A fire broke out in the front coach of the train later in the journey, forcing the carriage to be evacuated near Lockerbie.
Swaths of the Midlands were hit by intense downpours, with some parts receiving 22mm of rain in one hour – a third of the average rainfall for the whole of June.
Tyneside faced heavy downpours and flooding that forced the closure of roads, the Metro network, the Tyne tunnel and Newcastle's MetroCentre. All Metro trains remained at a standstill overnight, while the Tyne tunnel was opened after the floods subsided.
There were widespread power cuts in the area, with 15,000 homes in darkness overnight as Northern Power Grid engineers worked to resolve the problem. North Tyneside council said it dealt with more than 200 flood-related incidents in the borough and that at least eight schools would be closed on Friday due to flooding or water damage.
Public buildings, including leisure centres and libraries were closed and were expected to remain so on Friday, while residents in Gateshead, Wallsend, West Monkseaton and Longbenton were evacuated from their homes as drainage systems became overwhelmed by rainfall.
Mike Ellis, a maths teacher, died after being swept away by floodwater in a stream at Bittlerley, near Ludlow, Shropshire, on Friday morning, while a 90-year-old man was among a number of people rescued from vehicles by fire crews following flash flooding in the Bridgnorth area of the county.
Northern Ireland and the Irish republic were also hit by floods, with a loss of power in more than 10,000 homes in the Cork area and 1,000 in Northern Ireland.
Hundreds of homes and businesses were damaged by flooding in the Cork suburb of Douglas, while parts of Belfast and County Antrim were also badly affected.
The Environment Agency has 10 flood warnings in place in the Midlands, north-east and north-west of the country, but the worst of the weather looks to be over.
Nick Prebble, a forecaster for MeteoGroup, the weather forecasting arm of the Press Association, said: "Today there will be a mixture of sunshine and showers across the UK with temperatures cooling off.
"Most parts of Britain could experience the odd passing shower during the day, but the focus of the heavy downpours will be across Scotland. Northern parts could also have a few thunderstorms but the weather doesn't appear to be as severe as yesterday."
The floods came at the end of what may become one of the wettest Junes on record. More than 1,000 homes and businesses were flooded last weekend during torrential downpours across the north, with a month's rain falling in 24 hours in some places. Earlier in the month, heavy rain caused flash floods in west Wales

An Important Test or Exam

Really the most important exam for me was the PSU or university selection test.
The PSU is the test for enter at the university.

The maximum score obtainable is 850 points, the ideal is to obtain more than 650 points to enter a university of excellence, such as the Universidad de Chile and Universidad Catolica, in the case of the Metropolitan Region. But at other universities or colleges are not required to do this test.

For me this period was very stressful, I was 18, was in fourth grade school. Besides that I worked as packing in a supermarket on weekends from 8 am to 3 pm. I also attended a pre - university Cpech to study history and geography, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm because I came out of school at 6 pm. And besides going to reinforce math and language in my own school all afternoon on Fridays.

And besides all this I had life, though I had little time, too little time.
Is for this that I suffering very difficult moments in my personal life, leave out many things. The trip with my class to Serena helped me to relax and stop thinking about this test.

Finally came the day. I was sure of my knowledge and very quiet because I gave all my effort and time, and most importantly, I had the support of my family.

I did all the tests, language, mathematics, science and history.

Then I saw my results were not as good as I expected, but the score served me to study in University that I wanted.

A Special Place to Eat

I really like several places to eat, as the restaurant "El Porton" this place is near the metro station "Einstein". The first time I went with my family was to celebrate the birthday of my aunt. There was a singer singing romantic songs and classic songs. The meat was delicious. My sister and I drank a drink called "Margarita".

Another place I like is the restaurant "Nuria" I do not remember the exact address but is in various sectors in the center of Santiago, I went with my boyfriend, the first time we ate meat with mashed potatoes, the food was really delicious and the portion was very large, and then we could not eat dessert. I remember we went to watch football in this restaurant.

Finally I also like eating in the "terraces" of the Mall Plaza Vespucio.

In this place there are many places where eating and drinking.

The first retaurant I visit this place is called "Stadium" and went with my boyfriend. I like the atmosphere and music, sometimes there is karaoke, music is mainly from the decade of 80 and 90. Then I went to Stadium with my group of friends, had a great time, ate “quesadillas” and each drank something different. I drink juice of coconut and custard.

I also like to eat at Piola, also located in Mall Plaza Vespucio. in this place are specialists in pizza. I like a lot, especially one pizza called "Wayward" is exquisite. It's a special place when I want to be more relaxed.

Your Pets

I like this topic. I like to talk about my pet.
My pet is a beautiful dog, your name is Copito, but we call Copo, is shorter.
It has 2 years and 5 months. It is white with black parts. I love his ears are large and move with grace. It is a very playful dog and sometimes naughty, just sometimes. He loves to run and bite its tail.

Also likes to be with other dogs and play with them. But when he does that, I worry because it is small and I think the other dogs might damage.

But certainly what most loves to do is eat, particularly bread and bones. But I prefer to eat dog food.

A name would you like

I like my name, Nicole, my parents choose this name for the Chilean Singer Nicole. At that time this name was in vogue, because I know several girls my age with that name.

But I also I like the name Trinidad, I think it's very elegant and feminine. In addition I also like your diminutive "Trini".

The origin of this name is Latin, this means: Three persons in one God. It is said that the characteristics of women with this name are brave, determined and sensitive, and about love (which is something that although some deny it, for everybody is an important) is dominant, affectionate and sensual.

This is why it most likely, my first daughter will have that name.

A Birthday

I remember two birthday very important for me.

The first birthday was when I was 15 years old. The celebration began in my house. I remember that I went out with my mom and my sister shopping my mom bought a jeans, jacket and boots. Returned to the house, and began to prepare food for visitors. Then began arriving the visitors, only family. My grandmother, my sponsor, my sponsor, my cousins, my aunts and my uncles.

It was a familiar and peaceful celebration. Then came my friend Marcela along with my group of friends from my street.  Finally my school friends they arrived my house. Then the party became a dance party and best of all, everybody shared, my uncle was dancing with my friends, my cousins with my friends, etc.

The other special birthday I remember was with my boyfriend. I celebrated my 18 years old in my last year of school in 2009. A rose, purse, chocolate, cookies Tip top, this I like very much, silver earrings, I can´t remember everything, only that in all there were 18. Free Post: Lucybell

My favorite Chilean band is Lucybell.

Lucybell is an alternative rock group, formed is the early 90´s.

Lucybell was born in 1991 in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Chile. Marcelo Muñoz, Claudio Valenzuela, Gabriel Vigliensoni were partners in the Career of Arts and Sound and Francisco González was studying bachelor's in English. This is how they know and begin to form the band, inspired by the British alternative rock that time.

Claudio Valenzuela (vocals, guitar), Francisco Gonzalez (drums), Marcelo Muñoz (bass) and Gabriel Vigliensoni (keyboard) were grouped in 1991 under the name of Lucybell. In the beginning they do concerts at various universities for become a band more famous.
In 1994 the band signed a contract with EMI Music Chile for the production of their first album, called "Fish", produced by Mario Breuer.
This album has two big hits, "De sudor y ternura" and "Grito otoñal".
The Association of Entertainment Journalists (APES) awarded to the band as Disclosure Group in 1995.
On February 13, 1998 participated in the International Song Festival of Vina del Mar. The same year released a new album "Lucybell" album produced by Oscar Lopez and Lucybell. The September 18, 1999, in Valparaiso, the band performed one last time with his original lineup. This is because Gabriel and Marcelo Munoz Vigliensoni decided to leave the band. His replacement on bass joined Eduardo Caces.

In 2000 released the album Sunrise, first album as a trio of the band. It was produced by Eduardo Bergallo and Lucybell, with hits like "Milagro" and "Luces no bélicas." In 2001 the band released their first live production, entitled Session Futura, its first production in DVD format. On February 20, 2003 were presented for the second time in the International Song Festival of Vina del Mar.
In April 2004 they releasedLumina”. With this album could be more recognized internationally. This has the big hit "Salvame la vida."
In May 2005, Francisco Gonzalez, founding member of the band, left the band. In its place comes the drummer of the Chilean rock band drachma, Cote Foncea.
Actually the band is touring nationally and internationally celebrating its 21 year history and with all its members together.
I am very happy and anxious for the June 23 I will go with my boyfriend to enjoy a new Lucybell concert, this concert will be special because will meet all members of the band. I'm waiting to hear these new sounds and feel a new energy.
